I use both XY4.017 and XW4.12 under Win95. I don't run into
either of the problems you mention. They may be due to v.
4.014's bugs, or to a hardware difference. Here is my setup:

Computer     Dell M200a
CPU        Pentium 200MMX
RAM        48MB
HDD        6.1GB; 420MB backup hard disk
CD-ROM      Toshiba 12/24x EIDE
Modem       US Robotics Sportster 56.6 V.34 w\fax
Comm software   Netscape Communicator 4
Printer      HP Laserjet 4+
Operating System Windows 95 OSR2

I would recommend updating to 4.017 for starters. If this
doesn't do it and you are using the old version of Win95,
you might want to install the Service Pack that includes
most of the features of OSR2.

As for the Thesaurus, I use the really comprehensive one
that you can download from the XYWWW web site. I have
assigned it to a key, so when I hit the key it shows
synonyms for the word at the cursor. It presents no problems
whatever.
