Hello all,
There is a new installer ready for download based on a special build of
build 2017.10.17 by Wengier Wu:
http://www.lexitec.fi/xywrite/vDosPlus500_Setup.zip
Hopefully soon also mirrored by those who wish to do so.
This is a special vDosPlus build made at my personal request celebrating
Finland’s 100th forthcoming anniversary (December the 6th this year) as
an independent state, hence the name. More about this centenary on the
Net: http://suomifinland100.fi/info/?lang=en
Changes in build 2017.10.17 (Special Build for Centennial Edition)
(2017.08.01 branch):
- Fully compliant with Jos Schaars' vDos shareware protection scheme
- KEYMODE defaults to 1 (as this version is only for XyWrite use)
- Otherwise this build is the same as version 4.05
Changes in the installer:
- The fonts section points now to the user's Windows fonts folder for MS
Consolas fonts (if these fonts are not present in that folder, they can
be installed by downloading and installing Microsoft Office
Compatibility Pack
(https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3))
- Added Carl Distefano's utilities for XPL encoding in the extras folder
- Note about WINRUN=OFF for enabling the use of NB4 or later using this
version (users of NB4 or later should perhaps download Edward's
alternative vDosPlus.exe and update this package manually with it)
As this may be the last of these installers ever to be published, I wish
to thank all those who have participated in this process, Carl, Wengier,
Jos, Edward and many others who have provided help, insight and
suggestions. It has been a pleasure working with you all.
Best regards,
Kari Eveli
