I use ctrl for little "hardwired" keyboard macros (i.e., ctrl-c calls a file from a
dir; ctrl-s, duh, saves), and I use ctrl-shift for applying ≪US≫ commands (styling
codes). So I opted for alt-shift for the "altkeys.sav" (save/gets) functions.
