Regarding lack of WYSIWYG in XyWrite, says who?
Have people forgotten the graphics mode, revolutionary in its day,
which was the closest anyone got to true WYSIWYG in its day?
Regarding the future of XyWrite:
I once had a discussion with someone long ago, maybe Dave, about why
XyWrite had not evolved into a page layout program? It is already so
close! So few features would have to be added. Meanwhile, page layout
programs like Quark or InDesign are only just beginning to catch up
with some of the document processing features of XyWrite.
If there is one thing I take away from this lengthy discussion, it is
that we should not perhaps let go of the possibility of doing
something with the 'stripped down NB 10' that has been discussed.
That seems the most promising avenue . . . .
Meanwhile, I am so happy to have Xy4 in my life, and I confess I am
still on an ancient version of vDos.
