All's well that ends well, I guess. But allow me to point out one fact: Early
on, in one of your first msgs, you said that this was the final assembled DOS
command *before* execution:
> dos/nv/x/z /c -output D:\XYW4DOS\VIEWPDF.TMP "c:\GS\gs8.15"
Now you say it's only a matter of fixing the DOS PATH. But if that were the
case, you would not have gotten the DOS command quoted above. The absence of
..\BIN in the DOS PATH would only affect the *execution* of the above DOS
command, not the way it was assembled by the U2 frame and presented for
execution. And what I see above, pre-execution, is completely faulty -- not
only is the PSTOTXT3.EXE spec missing, but the result file isn't specified
either. That spec, above, was the predicate for the entire conversation. The
solution canNOT be as simple as you make it sound.
And, I'm just curious, when you said a week ago:

≪ But adding that dir to the Path does work.≫
> Well, I fixed the Path, but still no go.
If you fixed the Path, then ... what was it you fixed, that it didn't get fixed?
We only know what we're told here. The output can only be as good as the input.
