Jordan,
I think you misunderstand what this does. This searches for Xy formatting
codes <...> and copies each to a separate file. Your original file is
untouched. The XYFMATSat file has nothing but those codes and carriage
returns, no text, unless they were in a prompt, but that seems
extremely unlikely, since what you have is not a program. After running it,
you will see onscreen the XYFMATS file to be emailed to me. View it in
expanded mode.

Well, it's other people's personal and financial info that I'm
responsible for, so I'd need to make sure this program leaves
NONE of the important text behind. You can be certain that I'm
going to closely inspect the result with a Hex Editor, to see that
nothing survives: not as a header, in file "empty space", or after
the file's EOF marker. I've seen that happen with other kinds
of files.
