John, the PCLEXAM dictionaries came with Signature but not with XyWrite 4, that
is why you cannot find that file. However, for Signature users who migrated to
XyWrite 4 we allowed the use of the PCLEXAM files... whereby the user could use
the files from the SIG1D directory (you will probably notice that there are 4
PCLEXAM files in the SIG1D directory, if you have not removed the directory).
Anyway...if you have not consciously decided to use the Signature (PCLEXAM)
dictionaries under XyWrite 4, then you may have accidentally set a default
value which makes the program think it is using them. In this case, call the
file SETTINGS.DFL and search for these two default commands:
DF LX=
DF UD=
If you find these, remove the complete line which each value resides on.
Now...if you intended to use the PCLEXAM dictionaries in XyWrite 4, it is
possible that one of the files was accidentally deleted. Produce a directory
(within the XY4 directory) on screen and check for the filenames which are as
follows:
PCLEXAM.DL0 PCLEXAM.DL1 PCLEXAM.DL2 PCLEXAM.DL3
If you are missing any of these, you need to copy the missing files from the
SIG1D directory...they should reside there. If you have removed this
directory...and wish to use these dictionaries (and do not have copies of the
files), please provide your Signature serial number and I will ship the missing
file(s) to you.
