If you have no wireless links, then turning off the pc is all you need to do to protect it. You can leave the router running; not much mischief can be instigated on a wired-up router. Just make sure the admin username and password have been changed from whatever they were when it came out of the box.
 
Most home routers deliver with a default IP address in the range
192.168.x.0 and support an HTTP browser interface on port 80. To hinder
unwanted users from getting onto the router, one might change the IP
address and/or port number, but only if you're paranoid (or, like me,
over-informed). This would apply equally to a wireless router or AP,
BTW.
