Jon,
What about key combinations? Have you redefined any of the hot keys
(Windows key, FN, CTRL, etc.) in your Xy keyboard file which could be
causing a conflict between Xy and WinXP or you particular hardware?
Laptops sometimes choke when you redefine their hot keys.
