There are several ways of doing this, but I think this is the one of 
standard procedures:
In settings.dfl, locate lines (or add if they do not appear there) with 
"DF SW=" and "DF SL=" (screen width and length respectively) and ajust 
the values accordingly, e.g.
DF SW=80
DF SL=35
