John sent me an email regarding the cursor speed option. In case anyone else does not yet know, with the latest DOSBox-X 0.83.10 you can customize the cursor blinking speed in TTF output with the ttf.blinkc option. Cursor speed customization is new in this version (as part of "
Improved TrueType font (TTF) output" in the release notes). Just set an integer between 1 (fastest) and 7 (slowest) to change TTF cursor blinking rate, or setting it to 0 for no cursor (or false for non-blinking cursor as in previous versions). The default value when you enable the ttf.blinkc option is 4 on the standard setting, or 6 for PC-98 systems.
