Mostly smooth, but with glitches. It doesn't load instantly like VDosBox, but that must be Big Sur hurdles.
My main question is transferring from the Clipboard into XY4.
And clicking in the Main menu on "Pasting from the clipboard" certainly does the job. But it's a lot of clicks.
That menu item lists a keyboard shortcut-- Left meta + Alt + F4 -- but I have no idea what "left meta" is--it's not the fn key or left shift key.
The Wiki mentions F12-V, but that brings up the internal XY4 clipboard, not the external one. The Wiki also says a key can be assigned in Config.sys -- but Search doesn't find anything called Config.sys. I do have Autoexec.bat that loads Editor.exe and sets the 25-line size.
The Clip assignment is probably easy, but I could use a little help. Thanks.

I believe the DOSBox-X version you are using is an older version. The default keyboard shortcut for "Pasting from the clipboard" in current DOSBox-X versions is Ctrl+F6. Also, the "Left meta" key should be listed as the "Left Command" key in recent DOSBox-X versions. But if you use an older version, then "Left meta" means "Left Command" in macOS. Hope this helps.

I moved on to Big Sur and so I've had to switch from VDosBox to DosBox-X-X on my MacBook Air.

Also, key shortcuts in DOSBox-X can be customized in the Mapper Editor, not in config.sys. With the DOSBox-X Mapper Editor you can customize many input functions, or you can use the default key settings. Hope this helps.
