Yes - - that's the problem. I need caps lock mapped to command just to
make the Mac usable.

Again, I havenât played with
any of thisjust reacting to the Mac specific stuff. But if you go
to the Macâs system preferences and click on Keyboard and choose the
Keyboard tab within that (probably already chosen) and then click on
modifier keys you will be able to remap things. Of course, you may
not want to do that in general
rather than just for DOS.

David, that suggestion worked perfectly. Ed's system is now working for
me and as he promised, it is very clean, though I have still not added
the one line he suggested in an earlier note. (I get the impression that
you really do have to be careful where in the config file you
place a line?) HOWEVER,
mapper still is not working. I followed the instructions and
mapper does report that MOD 1 is now controlled by both left and right
command key. However, this doesn't actually happen. Control is still
controlled by the Mac's control key, in its cruel, hand-injuring
position. So near, and yet so far.

I by no means have solid
understanding of what that message means, but the embedded

a non-standard locationÂi.e. from a folder other than the Applications
