Re: read-only errors in EM DOSbox distro

It’s both a security feature and a functional feature. When one downloads an app there are
various places it could start out (e.g., the canonical downloads folder or, if it were a dmg file, a
temporary pseudo-drive.), but where it really belongs is the Applications folder. Usually with dmg
files a good installer will pop up a little Finder window and a little graphic telling you to drag
the app into the Application folder, with icons right there and an arrow showing you the direction
of drag. If it’s a more barebones install, where you end up with the app in the downloads
folder you *should* move it to the Applications folder.
