Edward,There are no plans to support CP850. CP437 covers most of the European languages (French, German, most Scandinavian languages, and Spanish). In addition, the math/Greek symbols are quite useful. In spite what many sources say (’various symbols were replaced with additional Latin letters with diacritics, thus greatly improving support for Western European languages’), this is hardly true, uppercase accents can be and are very often omitted in French, the much needed French oe ligature would still be missing, and finally one is better off with some math/Greek symbols than none. And please note that Xy4 extended view supports only CP437, so adding CP850 would just add some confusion and complication without yielding much real value. However, the additional symbols belonging to CP850 are available in the Bitstream extended character set in case of need and when the printer supports them. The Bitstream extended character set will be available, but efforts are made to default to CP437 whenever possible. It makes conversions to newer formats easier and assures backwards compatibility with Xy3/NB3 files.
