Carl,It is an interesting concept. It could helpful when setting up a bunch of similar computers, say, for a classroom environment. In my case, many programs have special settings that have to be applied after the install, and even modifications to the operating system (like .TXA, .TXB and .TXU aka ANSI, ASCII and UNICODE txt files). Running the setups is not the tedious part, keeping up with all the accumulated tweaks is! E.g., installing special fonts for supporting custom encodings and associating them with the appropriate programs. All this has been a chore. A more normal user could use the winget approach but as it involves programming, it is perhaps somewhat out of reach for those users that could benefit from it most. On a positive note, the switch to Win11 may result in an easier Windows setup. Going through the set of installed programs and browser add-ons and such like has, in my case, resulted in a better system overall. It has been worth while.
