You say you run some Win programs in virtual machines on the Mac. I
wonder if I could run Autohotkey that way, which would remove the
major barrier from me using the Mac for more than audio and vido editing?

Parallels-Windows11 runs NB14 without major issues, and I think I used to run a Windows version of Xy as well.  In addition, NB14 runs under a special Crossover version of Wine.  Parallels is a very refined product these days. 

I’ve never used Parallels with Autohotkey.  I downloaded the latter and installed it in my Parallels-Windows11 environment.  It installs but doesn’t come with any sample scripts for me to test, so I’m pretty much all thumbs.
