I happened across a piece on xda-developers.com about a free utility which makes it easy to disable any or all of the many spyware-related and otherwise unwanted/intrusive features of Windows 10 or 11. It's called ShutUp10++ (OOSU10.exe). I installed it last night and, with one click, disabled all of the dozens of features "recommended" for disabling. (Settings that should be treated with caution, or not disabled at all, are helpfully flagged.) No ill effects so far; in fact, there has been no noticeable difference in my user experience. (Disclaimer: I haven't gone through the relevant settings and registry entries to verify that they have, in fact, been disabled.) In any event, the concept and user interface are attractive; I'll keep you posted on how it goes (if there's anything noteworthy to report). Here's the xda article, titled "I got so mad at Windows I downloaded this free utility app to disable all its spyware": https://www.xda-developers.com/i-used-this-free-utility-tool-to-disable-all-windows-11-spyware/ -- Carl Distefano cld@xxxxxxxxxx
