You�re likely missing the *USER.LOG* file in your *XY3* program folder.
Also, make sure your *STARTUP.INT* file includes this line:
BC LOGIN USER
That should fix the issue.
And yes � the EXE works fine for everyone else who still don't
believe/trust.

I'm delighted to report that xyghost's assembly code for Xy3.58B builds
and runs! Xyghost sent me the assembly code and a batch file that builds
it, using MASM 4.0 and LINK 3.64 (which I found in the MASM 5.0 bundle).
After I put the executables in the right places, all I needed to do was
run xyghost's batch file, and a few seconds later, a working editor3.exe
was created.
I used DOSBox-X as my build environment, and needed to run LOADFIX
before running the batch file, in order to avoid the dreaded "Packed
file is corrupt" message from link.exe. I also used vDos, which also
worked but was slower, and has the slight disadvantage of reducing the
long filename of the batch file to an 8.3 name.
Well done, xyghost! This is really an amazing achievement - a
staggeringly amazing achievement.
(P.S. I can't use it for anything, because if enter the NE command, it
tells me to log in, but presumably that is Working as Designed.)
