Re: XYWRITE 4.018 Source Code | request for resources

I'll check on Zig, that is a new one for me!

Thanks,

IMO, to truly revitalize XyWrite and bring it into the 21st century, it should be recreated in a
modern, memory-safe language, one that future coders (human or otherwise) will want to continue to
develop for generations that follow us. The obvious choice, at this point in time, would be Rust,
which has been embraced by the tech giants and by Linux developers, among others. Another highly
suitable choice would be Zig, which has been called the C of the future (and which integrates
tightly with legacy C code). Zig is a systems programming language which, like C, works well for
general purposes.) It hasn't reached version 1.0 yet, but current and recent versions are rock
solid. Moreover, it may well have reached v1.0 and beyond if and by the time all this becomes a live
issue. (I support the Zig Software Foundation and use the language for personal purposes but have no
financial interest in it.)
