Re: T/OT: Vibe coding a Windows notes app with Claude

Hey, Russ.

I knew vaguely about this but hadn't considered it as a total solution--a solution to everything in Windows breaking all the time (maybe due to updates). Some of it has to do with peripherals, so I doubt a Linux layer can help with that. But I will look into this with Claude right now.
Thanks.

Harry

Hi Harry,
Do you know if this is an option for you, you can run Linux natively on top of windows. And still keep all of your Linux stuff in that area and still keep your windows Xywrite stuff on the window side. I don’t know if that’s necessarily what you wanna do, but I know that I have had Linux running within a Windows machine. It’s part of Microsoft Linux layer and then because of that I was able to run some of my favorite programs and commandline programs that run in Linux there.
For what it’s worth,
Russ.

Hi, Carl.

Great work! I will try it out shortly

I've been spending 6+ hours/day with Claude, myself. I'm using it to
make the transition to linux. I'm using 4.7 adaptive, basically, and
I see the division of labor: Claude is like a team working for me. I
set the goals, Claude presents me with the options. I choose an
option, Claude takes a stab at implementing it, with dozens of error
messages to use for course-correction.

The challenging part was jerry-rigging a substitute for Autohotkey in
linux. Have to combine three different programs.

No one has responded to my inquiry about how you can (if you can) run
VDosPlus Xywrite on linux. I know that dosbox-x runs natively, but I
don't like that interface for Xy as much as I do VDP.
