Hi Carl,
The font-size control for the UI text is great. You/Claude are right that UIFONT 14 and UISCALE 1.75 are good for old eyes! At least, for mine.
Did you not have changes in those variables affect the size of the main menu (File, Edit, ...) because it's impossible/difficult to do so, or because you decided it isn't a good idea?
At the risk of sucking you further into the quicksand, here are some comments/questions.
1. I think that making the font-size for UI text user-selectable has had implications for the Options->Fonts dialog. With UIFONT 14 and UISCALE 1.75, the Preview section and OK button in the dialog aren't visible/accessible, as far as I can see.
2. Page 15 of the manual says "View — toggle the Markdown preview pane (Ctrl+P), and a few visual options. Chapter 4 covers the preview in more detail." But I think the View menu has only the toggle pane option, and I can't see any more info in Chapter 4.
3. Is it possible to change the font for the Markdown preview panel? I think Idoesn't seem to be a relevant setting in the config file.
4. When an itemization has an item that runs to two or more lines, the second andconfiguration, are not left-aligned with the text on the first line.
5. It would be nice if the second-level bullets in a nested itemization were different from the first-level ones (hollow vs. solid?).
6. The preview panel syncs nicely as one types in the editing panel, until the preview panel fills up. It would be nice if after the preview panel fillsn see the Markdown preview of what one is typing. (The preview panel can of course be scrolled, but when one starts typing in the edit panel the" the three main panels are dark gray, but the rest of the screen is white or light gray. To my eye, the setup of Notepad++'s dark modeext and the editing panel is dark gray with white text. (I do like the possibility of choosing any color for the backgrounds of the editing and preview panels.)
8. Page 16 of the manual refers to the "tab strip across the top". You mean the tab column on the left, no?
9. In that tab column I see all the open files in \quicknotes\notes, but I don't see the open files in other directories. Is that intentional? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the purpose of the tab column.
Thanks!
Martin
