This is quite impressive and is more accurate in preserving user-made changes while not losing new material present in an update. It's obviously much improved over my first effort and even includes decent error checking, something I tend to shortcut. But--- as an MIT alum I can say this--- it reminds me of an old joke we had there back in the day. That was the time of IBM mainframe dominance. The MVS operating system was replacing the DOS operating system (that's mainframe DOS which had nothing at all to do with PC DOS, which was years away). What kind of operating system do you get when you have one MIT student work for one year? DOS. What kind of operating system do you get when you have ten MIT students work for ten years? MVS. It does the same thing but it's a hundred times more complicated. Of course in this case the new script does a lot more and does it better, so thanks Harry for taking things forward and publishing!
