And I'm not giving up screen resolution just yet...
Jon, you really can't change (i.e. lower from maximum) resolution on
an LCD without suffering serious visual flaws. An LCD has a native
resolution - - its highest - - and that's where it should always be.
Not to mention that valuable XP+ enhancements like ClearType will
only work when the LCD is at max res. Get the CT Tuning Tool from the
Microsoft Typography website to finetune the way ClearType works on
any given LCD.
