Re: how to get back deleted material?

A freeware recovery program:

This program has its limitations, but it is free.

Data recovery is for extreme situations: serious hardware failure, etc. and best left to professionals. It is way too complicated for the average Windows user. QueTek (http://www.quetek.com/) has specialty software for DIY data recovery when these situations arrive.

Think ahead! Use an automated backup solution (you need an inexpensive software package (e.g.
Acronis) and a second hard disk or other media, or now you can even back up to an Internet
location).

On the other hand, you could set up a simple batch file backup system for your work files. See for example: http://teamtutorials.com/windows-tutorials/create-a-windows-daily-backup-script

Make one batch file, schedule it, and you are done!
