error and correction beeps (Win98 SE vs Win2K)

Just to make sure I wasn't misleading anyone, I just tried making a
spelling error on XyWin in Win98 SE with the autocorrection on, it
dings at me just fine. And I checked my two versions of xwset.dfl,
they have exactly the same settings for all the error things.

I did notice, however, that when the Win98 machine dinged, it made a
noise I've never heard on my Win2K machine. So I decided to look in
the settings under "Sounds" in "Control Panel."

Lo and behold, the ding sound (ding.wav) is assigned on the Win98
machine to the sound event "default sound", and to that sound event
only: but there is no "default sound" setting in the Win2K sounds
menu.

So I guess that's the problem. Now if I could figure out how to get
XyWin to send a notification to some other Windows sound event, I
guess I would get my spelling error beeps (dings) back.

Or I could just learn to type more carefully....
