Re: Orbis And Other Stuff

Robert, first of all I agree with your philosophy concerning the compression of
files. Believe me, it makes my job more difficult as well when extracting
specific files would help to narrow down problems. The process used with
Signature was just fine in my estimation.

Concerning your problem with Orbis, I believe that the version of the
EDITOR.EXE which is contained on your Orbis disk is 4.014A, or some alphabetic
value (not a release). Our apology if this is the case. If you will provide you
address, I will ensure that the proper Orbis disk is sent out.

Just a quick scenario of what takes place when you execute either A:INSTALL or
A:ORBINST (if you are not already aware of the process). When you execute
A:INSTALL, the program copies EDITOR.EXE from the Orbis disk over the editor on
your hard drive. Then the Orbis code (which is actually the ORBINST process)
runs. The ORBINST process checks the version of EDITOR.EXE which is located on
your hard drive. It must be 4.014 released version. If 4.014A was delivered (as
I suspect), then the error occurs. You can verify this by running the A:INSTALL
again to see if the EDITOR.EXE delivered is in fact an alphabetic version.

When you run A:ORBINST, the process simply updates the EDITOR.EXE which
currently resides on your hard drive, it does not deliver a new one.

Please let me know what you find and I will arrange to have a new Orbis disk
sent out as soon as I hear.
