VCLIP problems

I have run into a problem with VCLIP under both XY3 and XY4. I have
installed the three files into the vDosXY directory and placed the frame
in U2 but when I try and paste from the clipboard in XY4 I get the
message 'Empty Clipboard'. However the file VCLIP.TXT contains the text
I was hoping to paste into XY4.
I also found, when I downloaded and installed the files the first time,
that Windows reported NIRCMDC.EXE as 'not a valid Windows 32
application'. Is that because it is the 64 bit version? Anyhow, I
copied the version distributed with U2 version 120 and that runs without
a similar problem.
I have also tried to implement VCLIP in XY3. Neither the XPL nor the
keyboard assignments work for me. However I noticed that there was an
error message regarding VCLIP.TXT and checking in the routines it seemed
this was expected to be in the C:\ directory rather than vDosXY so I
copied VCLIP.TXT there and pasting worked as expected. (Unfortunately
the same trick did not work with XY4.)
