I did; after the usual messages of "Protection Violation", etc., it worked.

XyDOS 4.016 wasn't so happy, though. While copying from its fourth
diskette I read:

 On serial line 1093 we had a problem:
 Error Code 2107

    Press a key to continue.

Whereupon I pressed a key to continue. (That's right: not to stop, but to
continue.) And I then read:

 XyWrite 4 installation stopped at your request.

Oh, I see. Well, I copied over the missing bits of Xy4 from the old hard
drive and now it works.

SmartWords just won't feel like XyWrite if it installs without crashing.
