I'm confused about the problem you perceive. As far as I can tell, the problem
is that the VDM (Virtual DOS Machine, i.e. the window) isn't robust enough --
is _already_ too slow or sluggish. Why would you want to go "mo' slo'"? That
is just going to slow down the CPU. Whereas maybe the screen update problem
has nothing to do with the CPU -- maybe it's a narrow local issue of the
software routine that updates the screen not doing it frequently enough.

Or -- maybe you're right after all. Maybe XyWrite just runs too quickly on a
modern machine. I admit, I have to slow down execution of STARTUP.INT on my
faster (>1Ghz) machines, by introducing BX pQ2 commands (1 second pauses) at
various points in it, to get it to execute properly. It's almost as if the
WAIT command doesn't really wait until the previous command completes before
proceeding. Can you try moslo before buying?
