I think someone just mentioned the absence of this in W2K (probably NT) and
later.

Don't really know what I'm talking about here (haven't even booted into my
W2K in a few weeks, which isn't that unusual around here), but there are some
advanced tools like TWEAKUI and WIN PowerToys that can often hack some of
these things, if you know what you're doing. Robert also mentioned something
called DAEMON Tools, from a German site, which sounded interesting, but I
don't recall the context at the moment.
