Simulating keystrokes

It would be a great help if I knew a way to have an XPL program make Win
think I pressed a certain key. Then it could be picked up by AuthoHotkey.

The overall goal is to have an XPL program automate what I do manually by
hitting the key sequence: alt-space d Enter l
