ZAP26 will strip it from the currently-saved version of the current
file (not what's in your window necessarily, but what you last saved).

Sometimes. If you have DocumentInformation ON, if it's a Help file (U2, DLG).
Ordinary text files -- usually no.

You can also do it manually from the CMline. See

Check your file before and after with LIST.COM, to verify that the EOF char is
removed by this procedure.
