Re: converting Xywrite to Word

Lynn,

If you have Windows 98, you should have Wordpad, probably in Accessories.
(If you can't find it, search for "wordpad.exe".)

Open the XyWrite file in WordPad. Trim off the XyWrite coding. Save the
file with "Save As" Word 6.0 using a *.doc extension.

I just tried it and it works. I can pull it up in Word 6.0

Incidentally, WordPad is what I use when people send me files in files
newer than Word 6.

I also have a lite version of Word bundled in Microsoft Works, bundled in
Windows 98. I never use it but that should work too.

Another solution is to get StarOffice, which is a freeware clone of
Microsoft Office, and use the word processor in that. (Although I haven't
used it yet.)
