Monitors

I built a Heathkit composite monitor once. The instructions (which
I still have) say that the built up juice inside the monitor can be
safely discharged by clamping leads to a ground (like a radiator) and
touching one lead to the dimple on the bell of the tube and one lead to
an electrode on the back of the tube.
Makes sense. But I have not tried it yet. (I have a couple of
non-working monitors that I suspect have either bad off-on switches or
blown fuses. One of these days....)
