Protection Violation in XyWin

Today out of the blue I get a repeated "Protection Violation" in XyWin v.
4.13 running under Windows NT Workstation v. 4.0 (Service Pack 6) when
scrolling down (or searching) my 634591-byte file of names and addresses.
It happens about 30% of the way through the file, for no known reason, and
has never happened before today. (There is nothing anomalous I can see in
the file, I am viewing it in "draft - fast edit" mode in order to avoid the
too-many-elements problem, and the file works fine in Xy4 v. 4.018.)

Any theories as to cause before I reinstall program files?
