Re: XyWin

I'm so interested to hear this. I can't remember what intractable
problems I had with XyWin, but I just couldn't get it to work. I do find
Xy4 essentially bug-free, but I must admit that the files I generate now
are, in terms of formatting, extremely simple. Nevertheless, I always
thought it should have evolved into the one program that could have
combined page layout with editing/document processing. It would have take
two or three years but it would have been ahead of everything else.

Sorry to not agree with you, Bill.
In my opinion, XyWin is (and was from beginning) better than Xy4 Dos. Not perfect, far from to  be perfect. It's buggy? Yes, but not buggier than Xy4 Dos.
And, for me, more comfortable and faster than Xy4 Dos.

"And no, XyWin was never usable. Very promising, but unusable"
Unusable now, under Win7 and following MS operating systems, but satisfactorily usable in previous versions of Windows. I continue to use it in a secondary PC, which runs Win XP.

Any way, dead. Unhappily.
