Can't print in XY3+

Hi,

 

I can't print from xy3+.

 

Is the update that was mentioned before available yet for printing from xy3+.

 

My info:

 

            - win XP

            - lexmark p707 printer

           - usb port

 

          - xy3+ ver 3.57

         - printer files tried: postghst.prn & apple laserwriter 3.2 prn

 

         - FILE: simple text file, no codes

 

         - DOS Commands used:

                                 NET USE LPT1  \\PRTWITHXY\share4xy /PERSISTENT:YES

                                                            PRTWITHXY = computer name

                                                            share4xy = shared printer name

                                XONXOFF (tried with this & without)

 

RESULT: using TY or PRINT the printer displays on screen it is processing 0-100% and sends it to the printer.

                the printer makes the noise as if starting to print but never never does.

                It acts as if it has completed but no printing.

 

When I enter the printer properties in CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS, PORTS

it lists the ports LTP1 etc. and says it will send it to the first 3 ports checked.

I can only check one. USB is selected.

When I select LPT1 then USB becomes unchecked.

I used USB.

I've been thru the postings but still don't see a solution. Please help.
