Re: XyWrite 3+ Printer Driver for HP2100

If the HP 4050 is anything like the HP 4000, which I've
owned for a few years now, I'd like to put in a good word for it. I've
been absolutely delighted with it in every way, and its paper handling is
superb: It never jams. It cost more than the model down, but since it
came with a cartridge good for 10,000 pages, and the less expensive
model's cartridge was only good for 3,000, the difference wasn't as great
as it seemed. Moreover, since the toner cost/page is much less on the
4000, I ended up making up the rest of the price difference before very
long.

 I finally
returned it (thanks to the high regard of PC Connection for their
customers) for the HP 4050, which costs about 50% more, but is
built like a tank, and does everything superbly and almost twice
as fast. It is working perfectly with XY4 (both DOS and Win
versions) using its old HP LJ4+ PCL driver, which gives me access
to all the fonts I was using earlier (I use Garamond for everyday
printing).

Cheers,
