There are frugal, do-it-yourself types who claim it it very
possible to rehab these things: partly disassemble and have
at it with the right solvent and brush. I still have my
first Omnikey-102, and thought this might make an interesting
project some day (hey, it's not usable now, so nothing to lose,
right ?), but somehow this never cracked the top fifty on my
To Do list.

I probably would have done the same in that situation, but I
already had the spare. Are these still on the market ? The
prospect of the answer becoming 'No' is one thing that prompts
me to plan ahead.
