To summarize the discussion, you have two options:

1) Retain BX login jimQ2 ;*; in STARTUP.INT and add a
file called JIM.LOG (containing an innocuous XPL
instruction such as ) which must be located in the
directory returned when you issue VA/NV NL (usually the
top-level XyWrite program directory); or

2) Delete the login command from STARTUP.INT, in which
case you'll be automatically logged on with the default
username, SYS.
