I agree with you completely, and I too hate the look of this, even though --
despite best efforts and much experimenting -- I'm often guilty of it myself.
Maybe the NS Mail Client is no good, or maybe I just don't get it. So far,
I've tried: various Composition window widths, allowing the word-wrap to do
what it will (far more of my emails are written directly in the mail client, as
opposed to written in advance in Xy and then uploaded, although I've done
that too); visually duplicating the line widths I see in a message I'm replying
to, which showed up correctly, directly inputting a hard return at the end of
each line; various options in a pre-written message. It does not seem to make
any *consistent* difference in my results. In some cases the line lineups will
be fine, in others they will come out quite ragged, either for my text or the
quoted text or both. When I try exactly what worked before, it may not
work on another occasion. Yes, it is annoying, but I _am_ making the effort.
And I have no idea how this one will line up !
