RE: XY4 installing



Might your "Drive D: be a CD-ROM drive?

XyWrite installs from the diskettes would sometimes be able to go forward if
you put a CD in the CD-ROM drive, because apparently part of the
installation program checks all drives and if it can't read one it bombs.
On other machines or operating systems you have to disable the CD-ROM drive
and then re-enable it after the install (not always easy). Or you could
copy all of the diskettes into a temporary directory on the hard drive (last
disk first and the first disk last) and then run the install program from
the temporary directory.

I think I have used some or all of these techniques over the years, juggling
methods until one works.
