RE: Important [was Re: Big files]

Carl,

As usual, I have mixed results.

I downloaded and installed the Jan. 22nd U2. That went swell. EB
now loads in vDosPlus. Hooray! But BigBF jumped memory usage, per
taskman, to 80 MB. And I quit when I saw timeout had 90-some
seconds remaining.

That was in vDosPlus. Same results in Xy4. But this time I just
waited and sometime between 33 seconds left and 0, it went to the
bottom of the file. Then I did BigTF, and it was instantaneous.
Then BigBF with the same good result. That was in Xy4. In
vDosPlus, I got the file loaded a little more quickly (only 60
seconds or so), and taskman shows, as we talk, 78 MB for
vDosPlus.exe.

Separately, GO doesn't work in either program. Tried it
repeatedly, with $H and with , but it can't find the
directory.

GO figure.

Regards,
Harry

If you've recently downloaded the Jumbo U2 to use BigED, or if you
think you might use BigED in the future, please download the
current release of
U2 at your earliest convenience. It includes a critical fix for a
bug in earlier releases of BigED that might cause your files to be
deleted.

Your copy of XYWWWEB.U2 should be dated no earlier than 2017-01-22
19:32.

Download:

Apologies for the inconvenience. This is an important fix.
