U2 question

Well, start with the obvious first: Your XyWrite directory IS referenced
in your Path, no? If not, see if this holds true in XP (I know it does in
9x). The path statement (from a DOS prompt) returns a line that itself
can set the path. So if you command
path>oldpath.bat
so you can issue that command, change your path to whatever you like, and
then command
oldpath
and your original path will be restored. I don't need to change paths for
XyWrite, but I do for dBase, and this makes it very easy to switch paths.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, let me point out that this
is one reason (of dozens) why one should have at least separate
partitions on one's drive, if not more than one hard drive. That way,
XyWrite (and other DOS apps, including XyWin) are on drive D:, data are
on drive e:, and I can CD on any of them, without having to mess with the
path.
