I was going to suggest you back everything up -- as delivered --
first (probably with an imaging utility like GHOST or DRIVE
IMAGE), but then it occurred to me: how, and where ? Laptops
don't come with cd burners, as far as I know. That would mean
your only option is to put the partition contents or image
(better an image, imo, because it's compressed, and includes the
hard drive position info and the file system) into another
partition -- not such a good thing if your partitioning gets
messed up, or the h/d should fail.
