I can second Doug's remarks about XYWRITE file surviving, because
I believe we are on the verge of using inexpensive chips which
will accomodate any software, and the logic to follow will be
intermediaries that can read any type file, pure ascii in
particular, print to any printer, etc. The hidden proprietary
nature of various schools of software will be effaced. James
