Actually, Andrew, there is a leagal battle happening in the U.S. courts over
the creation of spreadsheet programmes. Seems a samll Canadian firm (Toronto,
I believe(I don't live in Toronto,Thank God)), is suing all the big name
spreadsheet developers because they haven't paid patent royalties for using
their idea. Seems that this company claims to have the patent on how a
computer processes a spreadsheet. Sounds like patenting the wheel if you ask
me. The first go-round was thrown out of a New York court, but not for the
claim, only a technicality. If you wish I will find it and try to upload it to
you. Personally, I think that kind of thing is rather poopy, myself.
