If by "putting function calls on the command line," you mean typing DX
so it appears in the file as the DX function, XY4 takes care of
that. You do ctrl-i, type the name of the function (e.g. as dx), and
the function appears at the cursor. I might add that Tim Baehr's
ENHANCE.SET includes some commands that, when simply typed on the
command line, appear directly at the cursor as the corresponding
functions.
