I meant that it was easy enough to Quit the DFSEE
program (what the CD boots to), leaving you with a
functional FREEDOS prompt. But that would only get
you started in the direction you wanted to go. My
goal would be to add XyWrite, diagnostic stuff like
PCI, and some other useful items into that mix.
Perhaps with a menu of some sort, to tie it all
together.

Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, I plan to pursue this, but
there are several projects ahead of it in the queue.
If and when I come up with something useful, I'll be
glad to share it.
